Here's my take on Brushes.  Brushes are tools.  The patent for the hammer does not - indeed cannot - restrict what you can create with the hammer. My brushes themselves are released under a creative commons license.  That means if you want to make new brushes out of them (say, you want to convert them to work in a different program) that use is covered by the creative commons license. If you want to USE the brushes, I don't believe I have either a moral or legal right to restrict that use.  That which is made using them is the intellectual property of the creator of the work, just like the person who makes paint brushes in meatspace can't s

I'm just getting started with this whole making art bit.  While I have no delusions of being a great artist, I hope that I will occasionally churn out something that someone else finds useful.  Everything here is released under the Creative Commons Share Alike license unless otherwise noted. If you make something extra awesome, I'd love to know about it, but it's not a requirement of use.  The Share Alike part is however - if you use parts of my art to make your art, you have to let other people use the derivative work too.  I don't care if you add the non-commercial restriction to the derivative work. It's time for me to shower off and man
